Located conveniently in the square of downtown San Marcos lies Texas Music Theater, a two-year-old business that has made its mark on the local community.

Over the past two years, Texas Music Theater has hosted an array of artists, some of them big and some of them small. Whether you're looking to see a local country band, or a major label artist, you can be sure to catch a show at the theater on any given weekend.

"We have only been open for two years, but we've had a lot of good artists play here," marketing and promotions director Jodi Tidwell said. "Matisyahu, Blue October, Delbert McClinton and most recently Travis Tritt are some of the bigger names."

According to Tidwell, business is never smooth, but they do try to keep their entertainment diverse and fresh in order to attract people from all demographics.

"Our target audience is different for every show, depending on the music," Tidwell said. "For example, we host a college night, which obviously caters to college students."

With a large dance floor, room for 1000 fans, three full service bars and an upper level balcony, Texas Music Theater aims to please their attendees.

Having received raving reviews from both fans and critics, Texas Music Theater is on its way to becoming a landmark Texas music venue. After accomplishing so much in just two short years, Texas Music Theater is sure to have many more ahead of them.
